Clyde Iron Works Wedding // Duluth, MN // Rachael + Noah
Rachael and Noah got married on a windy, cloudy, fall day in Duluth. It was the perfect combination of romantic and rock n roll. They wanted an intentional day that was timeless and unique at the same time. I think this day checked alllll the boxes.
I love when a bride has her own unique style. Rachael opted for a cape style veil instead of the traditional veil. And finished her look with this hand painted leather jacket complete with skull.
Oh yeah! Rachael also rocked doc martens instead of high heels.
Rachael decided to have first looks, not just with Noah, but with her bridesmaids and father as well. So we had all of these sweet moments.
It was cold and really windy outside, luckily The Clyde Iron Works is the most beautiful backdrop for a wedding. We had that industrial vibe and the most beautiful natural light coming in. We were able to do a ton of their portraits indoors and escape the cold.
This first look! So many sweet moments.
Rachael and Noah decided to exchange vows privately during their first look. I love how they were able to say everything that they wanted to. It was just one of the ways they made their wedding day more intentional.
These two wanted their pictures to be dark and moody. And you know I’m alllll about the dark and moody.
We were able to sneak away for portraits by Lake Superior in downtown Duluth. It was super windy and Rachael’s veil cape was doing magical things.
Rachael and Noah had to include their dog, Aurora, in their day. She was their flower girl and easily the most adorable guest in attendance.
What did I tell you??? The cutest! This is your sign to include your pets in your wedding day. You won’t regret it.
Look at this wedding party all in black! They look so good!
It was super chilly outside but this wedding party sucked it up and made portraits fun and easy!
If you’re looking for an indoor wedding venue, Clyde Iron Works is it! Rachael and Noah opted for classic black decorations with tall candles and string lights. It was timeless and a little gothic and absolutely gorgeous.
Instead of a traditional unity ceremony, Rachael and Noah did a hand fasting ceremony. Everyone in their wedding party and immediate family came and wrapped their hands with a piece of ribbon.
Noah emailed me before the wedding and let me in on a little secret. He had purchased Rachael’s dream car and fixed it up. He surprised her with it after their wedding ceremony.
I loved all the little touches Rachael and Noah added to their day. Especially this crossword puzzle that was all about their relationship. Guests filled it out during cocktail hour. It was such a great activity and conversation starter.
The ceremony backdrop doubled as the backdrop for the bride and groom sweetheart table at dinner. They completed the table with a velvet sofa, tall candles, and black skull vases.
Gotta love when a couple chooses pie instead of cake for their dessert during the reception.
