Outdoor Witchy Boudoir Shoot // Nekoosa, WI

When I was born, the name for what I was did not exist.
-Circe by Madeline Miller

I read Circe this spring and I’ve referred it to anyone and everyone. It easily made its way into my top 5 favorite books. And ever since I read it I had this idea for a shoot brewing in my mind. I was dreaming about a shoot of women realizing the power they hold inside, a celebration of femininity, strength, the human form, and nature. So I teamed up with my right hand ladies (Hannah and Emily) and we brought it to life.
When I originally thought this up and put a model call out, I honestly didn’t think anyone would volunteer or really “get” my idea. But then these beautiful women showed up. Not only were they the most badass models (it was freezing and they just ran around the woods naked without complaining and the camera loves them all) but they all embody the spirit of this shoot. The central idea of strong, beautiful, unapologetic women, who lead and fight for who and what they love. I’m honestly obsessed with them and I just want to sit around a campfire with them every day. They did all the work and I’m forever indebted to them for making my wildest witchy dreams come true.
Now enjoy my little loves!

“It is a common saying that women are delicate creatures, flowers, eggs, anything that may be crushed in a moment’s carelessness. If I had ever believed it, I no longer did.” -Circe by Madeline Miller
