Rainy Day Engagement Session // Nekoosa, WI // Cal + Olivia

This engagement session almost didn't happen.
It was raining and muddy and gross out. But then Olivia called me and said "Let's just go for it." We definitely made the right decision. It rained on and off the entire time we were shooting and down poured at the end. And I'm totally ok with it. There's something so romantic about a little (or a lot) of rain. Olivia and Cal are so fun and laid back, that I think it ended up suiting them perfectly.

Please everyone bring your pets to your engagement shoot. Dogs, cats, pigs, horses. Whatever. I'll probably just play with them the whole time.

We found this fallen tree with the most gorgeous yellow leaves, making a tiny little shelter that I would probably sleep in if I was given the chance.

How to direct your clients:
"Cal, pick Olivia up and just swing her body around. Ok now pretend you're Rose and Jack standing on the Titantic." Boom. Super professional.

These photos are proof that I have the best damn clients in the whole wide world. Seriously. Olivia and Cal are rock stars and obviously super adorable and sweet. Also, not shown is one of my past brides (who happens to be pregnant) holding an umbrella over me and my camera. I really hit the jackpot.
These pictures are also proof that you really shouldn’t stress about the weather on the day of your engagement shoot or your wedding. If you are willing to trust your photographer and just go with it, you’re going to get the most unique pictures and some really amazing memories to go with them!
